The easy-to-use features of the UE Systems Ultraprobe 2000 ultrasonic inspection equipment can be tailored to almost any inspection need. Because the Ultraprobe 2000 is exclusively sensitive to ultrasonic frequencies, it can detect problem sounds while reducing background interference because it won’t react to low frequency noises that are frequently found in most plant equipment. The meter can accurately reproduce sound by heterodyning ultrasonic waves into audible range.

By lowering interference from competing ultrasonic signals, frequency tuning enables the operator to choose the precise frequency of a problematic sound. Both linear mode functions and logarithmic metering are available on the bi-modal meter switch. Real-time response for improved leak and fault detection is offered by logarithmic metering. For mechanical and bearing monitoring, linear mode offers a gradual, average reaction to stabilize values. A broad dynamic sensitivity range is offered by the 10-turn sensitivity adjust dial.

Three methods of data reporting are made possible by the Ultraprobe 2000: a bi-modal analog meter, an auditory channel via a headset designed especially for heavy-duty industrial use, and the ability to interface with vibration analyzers and sound recording devices via heterodyned output.
